Everyone is given the same amount of hours a day however, some appear to get more done. The difference is in the way you use these hours. These time management tips will allow you to work smarter and not work harder.
1. Plan ahead.
It’s difficult to anticipate everything that happens However, you should strive to be as prepared as possible. Make a list with the tasks you have to complete every day. Include any deadlines or meetings that might impact your schedule. Estimate the time each task will require the most precise way you can. This will help you to remain on the right path and feel productive.
2. Eliminate distractions.
Distractions come in many forms including social media, colleagues to text messages and personal phone calls. They can also be random thoughts. Do your best to identify those things that keep you from working and come up with a method managing a big team to handle them. Maybe it means shutting your doors to minimize distractions, or turning your phone on silent, for instance. You may need to say no to your friends or change the date of your coffee date when you have an important assignment due.
3. Prioritize your tasks.
Everyday, evaluate every task and assign it a priority according to its importance and urgency. This will help you avoid feeling overwhelmed by a to-do list that seems endless, and will ensure that you complete the most important tasks completed first.
