This is something I see all the time and it bugs the crap out of me. “Atheist” speaks of ONE PERSON; it is singular. Yeah, I’m a Christian in Australia, and I’ve had the opposite experience – men match with me, then say, “sorry, didn’t notice you’re Catholic” and unmatch. Atheism seems to be the norm, at least in Sydney and Melbourne. Even within my own state my city is far more atheist but you drive west and get increasingly more agnostic and then religious. I totally get the urge to remove it for more matches, we all need that self esteem boost. But I would be frustrated to date someone, and get attached and then find out they were very religious, or were super into astrology/magic weeks into it.

We may feel like our faith is unshakable, but as it turns out, even the wisest king of Israel could be led astray by marriage to an unbeliever. We are no different, and our hearts are just as corruptible as his. Christians are actually given specific instructions about who they are supposed to marry. Then, a really nice guy I met in a coffee shop asked me out. It felt like God wasn’t listening, and I was discouraged that my life seemed stuck in a pit of hopelessness with no sign of movement anytime soon.
